Philips Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes – Handle Overview

You already may have noticed, that there are confusingly many different Philips Sonicare rechargeable toothbrushes on the market. I compared all models and discovered that many of them are simply variants of the same model. They use the same toothbrush handle but differ by color or additional features like UV sanitizer, connectivity or tongue cleaner. Take that away and you are left with a much easier choice to make.

To make it easier to find the best Philips sonic toothbrush for you, I wrote this overview of the different Philips Sonic toothbrush handles (children’s electric toothbrushes I will do in a later post) and their main features. Once you know which handle you want, finding the right Philips electric toothbrush for you is not so complicated anymore. You then just need to pick the additional features you would like to have and choose a color.

To charge your electric toothbrush, you simple place it in the included charger glass or use the also included travel case which can connect via USB or to a wall outlet.

Included is a rechargeable Lithium ION battery. An illuminated icon on the brush handle informs you about the battery life.

While brushing this handles beeps after every 30 seconds to inform you that it is time to move on to the next quadrant of your mouth. Once the two minutes recommended brushing time are up, it automatically turns off.

It is compatible with Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Standard, Philips Sonicare SimplyClean Standard, Philips Sonicare AdaptiveClean Standard, Philips Sonicare InterCare Standard, Philips Sonicare Sensitive Standard.

The absence of a pressure sensor may be not such a big deal if you hold the brush handle the way Philips suggests.

Philips offers the DiamondClean brush handle in 5 different colors: white (HX9352/10), black (HX9352/10), amethyst (HX9372/10), rose gold (HX9392/05) and pink (HX9362/10). The wireless charger version is only available in black.
